Apples & Pears Identity

Client: Self-Directed/School Projects

Logo done as a day assignment when I was in school. (They gave us the assignment at 9am, we went off and brought back a colour print at 4pm.) The brief called for an identity package for an upscale catering service, and specified that it ought to contain some kind of hand-rendered element.

Black & White Logo

I went to grocery store on my way home and bought an apple and a pear. After cutting the fruit in half and trying that, I decided the seeds themselves had greater visual appeal. It was a lot of fun trying to align them perfectly on the scanner glass, especially when I was on a deadline.

Colour Identity Materials

I think most designers really relish an identity assignment that makes use of an ampersand. I actually have one tattooed on the small of my back.
