Atlantic Sojourn Revamp
Client: Atlantic Sojourn B&B
The Atlantic Sojourn B&B loved their website, but wanted it to be more search-engine friendly. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is such and involved and ever-changing knowledge that many companies deal with it exclusively. What I could offer to Susan and Sebelle was a retooling of the site structure and code in order to help boost its rankings.
atlanticsojourn.com pre-redesign
Most of the work done to the website is “invisible”, which was definitely a first for me! The entire site was restructured to run on semantic, standards-compliant code (something I do with all my websites as a matter of course!), and ALT and META tags were used, among other SEO techniques. The website was also equipped with a detailed statistics program that would allow its owners to track their visitors in detail.
atlanticsojourn.com revamped
Since we’d need to rebuild all the pages anyway, I suggested that it might be a good time to revamp the website’s appearance. They were quite married to their old design, so I followed it faithfully, making only very minor tweaks to the typography and layout. We also added a few new content pages and a subtle animated icon for a page of particular importance. The photo gallery was totally revamped, and we added randomly cycling guestbook comments to the pages.
