Walker Inn Identity
Client: Walker Inn
When my mother bought herself an absolutely lovely (and haunted!) inn in Pictou, I was naturally her first-choice designer. As usual, we started from the ground-up, with a logo.
Walker Inn Logo
We went through a number of iterations before landing on this version, a simple, symmetrical solution reflecting the elegance and slightly old-world charm of the inn itself.
Brochure
Next, she needed some new brochures to leave in the lobby and scatter around various tourist information bureaus. I redesigned the old one to reflect the new look-and-feel developed with the logo, and added a tear-off coupon to the top which has proven to be quite successful. To cut back on production costs, we printed the brochures in black only on a coloured stock.
After we’d finished that, we totally revamped the website.
Extra Printed Items
Later, I decided it was high time to replace the list of rules that was posted in each room to reflect the general look-and-feel we'd been developing. While I was at it, I also redesigned the signin sheet that visitors fill out when they check in. Guests have found it much more user-friendly since it’s been redesigned, which is always a sign that I’m doing things right!
