Maplewood on the Lakes Community Website

Client: Maplewood on the Lakes

Maplewood on the Lakes is a subdivision in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia. They were looking for a community website to encourage communication between their residents.

I decided that the easiest way to accomplish this would be by using a customized Wordpress install. This way, community members can log in and add or edit articles themselves. We left comments open on every page, encouraging communication, and added plugins to manage a series of photo galleries and a calendar of upcoming events, among other things.

The design itself was intended to give a clean, bright, family-friendly feel, and uses natural colours to represent the water, trees and sun of their surroundings. We also used a number of randomly rotating images to put a focus on visuals that people would recognize and appreciate on an emotional level.
