Sébastien’s Bistro Website Design
Client: WebTarget
Sébastien’s Bistro had recently opened in a location that had changed owners a number of times in the past few years. They wanted a website that would differentiate them from the previous incarnations of the location, emphasizing the quality of the food without scaring off customers by seeming too “high-brow”.

So I set off to develop a design that was both elegant and classic, yet modern and casual. It was a bit of a back-and-forth process, but we eventually chose a photo-oriented layout with simple colours that reflected the bistro interior.
Interior Page Design
This was a bit of an unusual experience for me, as I was in charge of the design portion only, and the coding was done by another company. It can often be difficult for me to relinquish control (though it’s something I need to learn or I’ll give myself a heart attack before I’m thirty). While I would have liked the typography to be a little stronger and the code to have validated, it’s turned out quite nicely even without me obsessing over it. Three cheers for collaboration!
